Using a printing device over Wi-Fi may sound complicated at first, but it becomes easy once you understand the basic flow. Whether you are working from a desktop computer, laptop, or mobile phone, a Wi-Fi connection allows smooth printing without physical cables.

This guide explains how to prepare and connect a Wi-Fi enabled printing device in a clear and easy way.

Things to Keep Ready

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A working Wi-Fi internet connection

  • A Wi-Fi enabled printing device (powered on)

  • A computer or mobile device connected to the same network

  • Your Wi-Fi network password

Preparing the Printing Device for Wi-Fi Use

1. Power On the Device

Ensure the device is switched on and ready. If it has a display screen, wait until it shows the home screen or idle status.

2. Enable Wireless Mode

Locate the Wi-Fi or wireless icon on the device panel. Press it to allow the device to search for nearby networks.
Some models display a list of available networks directly on the screen.

3. Select the Network

Using the control panel:

  • Choose your Wi-Fi network name

  • Enter the password carefully

Once connected, you may see a confirmation message or a steady wireless indicator light.

4. Install the Recommended Application

On your computer or phone:

  • Visit the official website of the device brand

  • Download the suggested application or utility

  • Follow the on-screen instructions

Many brands also offer mobile applications that allow direct printing without using a computer.

5. Add the Device to Your System

  • Windows:
Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners → Add device

  • macOS:
    System Settings → Printers & Scanners → Add (+)

  • Mobile Devices:
Select the device from the print options or brand app
